Police Log: BB Gun Bandit, $2k Watch Swiped

• Christopher Schaffer, 30, of Fairfield turned himself in on an arrest warrant for violation of probation. The probation stemmed from charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and a subsequent violation of probation conditions that included fulfilling community service hours. He has an Aug. 30 court date and a $5,000 bond.
• A vehicle on Church Street was allegedly shot with a BB gun, shattering the rear passenger window. Another small ding in the sheet metal above the window indicated to police that the damage was likely caused by someone driving past and firing BBs at the vehicle. Police do not have any suspects.
• Michael Amato, 46, of Wilton was traveling east on Sharp Hill Road. A 17-year-old Wilton youth was traveling west in a second vehicle. The second vehicle began to leave the roadway, nearly striking a jogger. The driver then corrected and veered across the center yellow line, sideswiping Amato's vehicle. After striking Amato's vehicle, the youth then struck a stone wall, coming to rest facing west in the eastbound lane. The youth was taken to Norwalk Hospital, while Amato did not require medical attention at the time. There were no immediate arrests but the case remains under investigation.

Friday, August 20

• Anthony Massimo, 26, of Brewster, NY was arrested as the result of a warrant issued by Norwalk Superior Court. The warrant stemmed from a failure to appear on charges of vehicular and narcotics violations in January of 2010. Massimo will be arraigned on Aug. 27 after posting $1,000 bond.
• A purse containing numerous personal effects and an expensive watch was taken from a car parked at Merwin Meadows during the morning of Aug. 20. The car was a black, four-door Mazda hatchback parked by the center divider. The purse contained  a Coach wallet, a debit card, a credit card, a checkbook and a driver's license. Perhaps the biggest loss, however, was a Movado watch valued at $2,000. The purse was sitting on the passenger seat and the vehicle was unlocked. Police do not have any suspects.

Sunday, August 22

• Amit Singh, 31, of Danbury was detected on radar traveling 64 mph in a 40 mph zone. As he continued north on Route 7, he was observed crossing over the double yellow lines. After being stopped, Singh admitted to having consumed alcoholic beverages prior to driving. He was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Singh was found to have an elevated BAC and was assigned a Sept. 2 court date and released on a PTA.
• Robert Dillon, 50 of Wilton was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call. Sookwang Dillon, 51, also of Wilton was charged with disorderly conduct. The charges all stemmed from a physical altercation between husband and wife, during which no injuries were sustained. Robert Dillon's additional charged stemmed from his disconnecting his wife's attempt to call 911.
