Police Log: Employee Vows to 'Shoot the Place Up'

• Philip Grasso, 49, of Sharon was stopped after a complaint of erratic operation. The officer that stopped him smelled an odor of alcohol coming from his vehicle and field sobriety tests were administered, which Grasso failed. He was arrested for DUI and failure to drive right, posted a $500 bond, and has an Aug. 26 court date.
• A new LCD projector was discovered missing when an inventory of new computer and equipment was taken at Miller/Driscoll school. The projector was valued at $678.91.

Wednesday, August 11

• Christopher L. Billy, 22, of Redding was arrested for failure to appear in the second degree. Billy was originally charged with operating under suspension, failure to turn in a license, and failure to drive in an established lane on Oct. 10 of 2008. He posted a $1,000 bond and has an Aug. 23 court date.

Thursday, August 12

• Police discovered a substantial amount of graffiti covering the facilities at Merwin Meadows. They believe it transpired during the night of Aug. 11 and could be linked to an underage drinking party nearby. At that party, two 19-year-olds were cited for alcohol-related infractions.

Friday, August 13

• Cosmo Mitchetti, 45, of Newburgh, NY was arrested and charged with breach of peace following a report at 24 Danbury Road where he made a comment about "shooting the place up." Mitchetti is employed at that location. Mitchetti turned himself in and signed a misdemeanor waiver and waived his right to have an arrest warrant issued for him. Mitchetti claimed he was only kidding and blowing off steam during a conversation. He was released on a PTA and has an Aug. 23 court date.

Sunday, August 15

• A 29-year-old Wilton woman was arrested after a 911 call was received and police were dispatched to her residence at the Avalon Springs complex in town. It was learned that an altercation had taken place during which Brown grabbed her husband with her arms around his lower legs to prevent him from leaving the residence and would not let go. She was charged with disorderly conduct and released on a PTA. She had an Aug. 16 court date.

Monday, August 16

• Gregory C. Potter, 18, of Portland was traveling southbound on Route 33 when he lost control on a wet road while negotiating a right curve. His vehicle crossed the road and struck a metal guard rail. Potter was charged with operating under suspension, failing to return a suspended license, failure to keep right on a curve and traveling too fast for conditions. His passenger, Anton Hess, 17, of Wilton was not injured in the accident.
• Benson A. Briggs Jr., 68, of Wilton was arrested for failure to grant the right of way to oncoming traffic stemming from a motor vehicle accident on Danbury Road at Old Highway. Briggs, and the driver of the other vehicle involved, Kenrick Bucknor, 55, of Bridgeport were both transported to a nearby hospital for thier injuries. Lillian Roman, 87, of Wilton, Bucknor's passenger, was not injured.
