Police Log: Stolen Sword, Burglary Spree

• Kristina A. Daniele, 20, of Danbury was arrested during a routine motor vehicle stop when she was found to have an active warrant for her arrest for a failure to appear charge in Bridgeport. She was held on $2,500 bond and has an Aug. 16 court date.
• Vector Marketing at 35 Danbury Road was broken into. Thieves stole more than $33,000 worth of valuables, including 57 sets of cutlery and a sword. Read more on this story here.

Friday, August 6

• A Wilton police officer was parked at the Route 7 Shell station when he observed a white or Hispanic male pass him nervously. As the officer exited his cruiser, an individual came up to him and claimed the white or Hispanic male had just stolen a vehicle. The suspect then engaged the officer in a foot pursuit which ended in the woods behind Starbucks. The officer drew his taser and the suspect was ordered out of the woods, and he complied and was placed in handcuffs and detained for Norwalk police. The vehicle in question was stolen out of Norwalk the previous day. The individual was later identified as Hernan T. Aponte, 22, of Norwalk.

Saturday, August 7

• Jasier Arce, 27, of New Haven was arrested for speeding and operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs after being pulled over going 60 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 7. Arce was released on a PTA and has an Aug. 17 court date.
• Sometime during the overnight hours of 11:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. a large cement ornamental planter was broken by unknown persons. The case remains under investigation and Wilton Police Captain John Lynch noted that "this seems to be the month [every year] that these things [outdoor vandalism] typically happen."

Sunday, August 8

• Between the night of Aug. 7 and the morning of Aug. 8 three separate Wilton residences, at 12 Henry Austin Dr., 12 Sturges Ridge Rd., and 101 Pond Rd. were burglarized in similar fashion. All had valuables, including mostly jewelry, removed from them after a forced entrance. Read more on the story here.
• Richard H. Zwart, 51, of Norwalk and his son Richard M. Swart, 28, of Wilton were arrested and both charged with violation of a protective order. Apparently the protective order dictated that the two could not consume alcohol and be together. Police arrested the father and son intoxicated and walking along the roadway at 26 Danbury Road.
