Proposal For New Wilton Police Station Downsized to $14 Million
The original $16 million design was rejected by the Board of Selectmen.
WILTON — Architects presented the Police Station Building Committee with a new proposal that shaves about $2 million off the larger, $16 million project presented to the Board of Selectmen last month, the Wilton Bulletin is reporting.
The proposal for the 16,800 square foot building, scaled back from the 19,500 square feet of the original design, was presented by Tecton Architects. The current station measures about 11,000 square feet.
Also changed in the new design was where the new police HW would be situated. In the original plan the building sat at the end of the driveway to the town hall campus. The new design envisions the building directly behind town hall, in front of the current police station.
