Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness:  The key to Francia’s success is his quickness and ability to outdo and move past defenders who might have a height advantage.  Improved stickwork and speedy footwork allows Francia to compensate.

“He’s an athlete with a great attitude and great work ethic,” Wilton head coach John Wiseman, noting that Francia always puts the team first.  "He makes that his priority and I think that grounds him."

After finishing his senior year, Francia will play at Villanova University next fall. The senior-laden Warriors close out their regular season on Tuesday when they host Yorktown of New York at 7:30 p.m.

Francia recognizes that his career at Wilton is winding down. The Warriors begin play in the FCIAC playoffs next week and the state tournament the following week.

Wilton (10-5) has reeled off six straight victories following a 4-5 start. On May 4, the Warriors handed Barlow its first loss but it was a 10-6 victory over Ridgefield the following night that really got things rolling.

“We’ve always been trying and are starting to realize that this is out opportunity to perform,” Francia said.
