Whiz Kid: Warrior Boys Lacrosse Mid-Fielder Matt Reyes-Guerra-Dunn

The mid-fielder scored two goals and had two assists in the Warriors 7-5 regular season finale victory over Yorktown to cap a seven-game winning streak at the end of the season.

Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Dunn says his key to awesomeness is his overall strength and general knowledge of the game of lacrosse.

“I think I give the field width because I think it’s good to have going forward,” the senior said.

Third-year Wilton Warrior Head Coach John Wiseman, and husband of the now retired Warrior girl’s lacrosse coach Cindy Wiseman, says Dunn utilizes his size to be more productive on the field - a requirment in the sport.

“He can really pick it up and go,” said Wiseman, who hopes to bring another Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Association Conference championship. along with the Warriors' first state championship while Dunn is in the game.

The Warriors (12-5) play in the semi-finals 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brien McMahon against top-seeded Darien.

Regardless of how the season ends however, it has been one stellar ride for the Warriors who beat New Canaan 12-5 Saturday in FCIAC quarter-final action to extend their winning streak to eight consecutive games.

Dunn, who has also been a force on the football field and basketball court, will be able to take the memories and experiences gained from this season and the past four years to grow as a mid-fielder while attending Colgate next Fall.
