Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Phillips credits his awesomeness to the company of his brother - Warrior freshman second baseman Brett Phillips - and sharing the enjoyment of America’s pastime with his teammates.

Last Tuesday, the elder Phillips went 3-for-4 with five RBI and scored three runs in the Warriors' 23-0 trouncing of Wilbur Cross.
The following day, Phillips collected two RBI singles and a sacrifice fly in a 12-6 victory over Fairfield Ludlowe.
The Warriors (10-4) then added wins over Harding and Stamford before their seven-game winning streak was snapped with a 4-1 loss to Danbury on Thursday.
While Phillips will give basketball and baseball a rest after four years at the varsity level, he plans to continue his football career at the University of Massachusetts in the fall.
Phillips is a fine example of a unique individual on and off the diamond in terms of his work ethic, dedication and leadership.
“He’s a quality young man,” Eagen said. "He has huge leadership skills. Anything that he wants to do he will do and do well at. He loves to compete. Doing that, I think that’s something that makes him special."
