WHS Girls Swim Into Third at CIACs

The Wilton High School Girls Swim Team finished third in Tuesday night's CIAC championships at Southern Connecticut State University.

Defending a title is never easy, but it's even harder when you're missing some of your top swimmers.

Nevertheless, the WHS girls swim team had a strong showing at the Class M CIAC championships Monday night, finishing in third place behind eventual winner Darien and second-place New Canaan.

The Wet Warriors were missing K.C. Moss, their top swimmer, who was competing in her own international pursuits, and the lost several other team leaders to graduation and injury.

But all that aside, finishing third in a strong 21-team field is nothing to shake a kickboard at. Caroline O'Brien had the Warriors' top individual finish of the day, placing fifth in the 100m butterfly, and she, Caroline Higgins, Megan Latimer, and Emily Healey set a new school record and finished third in the 200m freestyle relay.
