Wilton Finishes Off 42-6 Rout of Bassick

The contest was completed Saturday after being suspended on Friday

The Wilton football team improved to 3-0 on Saturday after completing a 42-6 victory over Bassick in a contest that was suspended on Friday due to lightning.

The game was halted with 2:29 left in the first half and the Warriors holding a 21-0 lead.

Wilton scored its first three touchdowns on quarterback Sean Carroll's 5-yard run,  Connor Devane's 60-yard scamper and Carroll's 25-yard pass to Connor Buhler.

The Warriors tacked on 21 more points after the contest was resumed. Devane added a pair of touchdowns Saurday while Carroll tossed a second TD pass to Connor Buhler.

Bassick (0-3) has been outscored 140-12 in 12 quarters this season under first-year coach Derrick Lewis.

Wilton will seek a 4-0 start on Thursday when it is back home to host Ridgefield in a 6 p.m. start at Fujitani Field.
