Wilton Boys' Basketball Remains Winless In FCIAC

Warriors put up a good fight in 56-46 loss to FCIAC power Bassick

The Wilton boys' basketball team turned in a respectable effort against one of the FCIAC powers but came away from the game still looking for its first conference victory of the season.

Jamill Powell scored 17 points and Kyle Geer chipped in with 10 as Bassick held off the Warriors 56-46 on Tuesday afternoon in Wilton.

The Lions, one of the preseason FCIAC favorites, improved to 6-1 overall and 6-0 in the FCIAC.

Ian Ross scored 11 and Chris Nugent added 10 for Wilton, which dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-6 in the FCIAC. The Warriors did rout Armistad Academy 61-26 during the Christmas break.

Bassick led throughout but couldn't pull away, holding leads of 16-10 after the first quarter and 28-21 at the half.

Wilton again looks for its first FCIAC win of the season on Friday, when it hosts New Canaan.
