The Wilton boys lacrosse team opened its season in impressive fashion Wednesday at home. The Warriors received balanced scoring throughout the lineup as nobody scored more than three goals in a 16-0 drubbing of  Trinity Cath0lic. Chris Barnett was the only player to score three goals for Wilton, which did all its scoring in the first half. The Warriors didn't even shoot in the second half, not wanting to run up the score. Junior Mike Serpa, senior Brendan Obranski and sophomore Chris Nugent each had two goals for Wilton, which lost to Darien, 17-11, in last season's Class M state championship game. If Wednesday is any indication, the Warriors should once again be in contention for a state title.

VFW Seeks Volunteers and Donations for Flag Placing at Lakeview Cemetery on Saturday, May 16 at 8am
Volunteers are wanted to assist VFW Post 653 in New Canaan to place flags at the graves of fallen soldiers in their honor for Memorial Day. All are welcome to participate on Saturday, May 16, from 8am to 10am at the Lakeview Cemetery on Main Street in New Canaan. We will meet at the lower Veterans’ section (Section M), just to the right after you enter from Main Street and cross the bridge. Refreshments will be served. The VFW removes the flags it places, so that these flags may be reused next year. Removing the flags, is following proper flag etiquette and protocol established at Arlington Cemetery, and of course, has the added benefit of reusing flags, thereby reducing waste and conserving funds. Removing flags is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 6 at 8am, but unlike flag placement, is weather dependent.
Memorial poppies will be available for any donation made to New Canaan VFW Post 653 the Saturday and Sunday of May 16 and 17 and of Memorial Day weekend at several New Canaan businesses (ACME, Dunkin Donuts, Walter Stewart’s Market and Zumbachs). Post 653 uses fundraising proceeds to pay for flags and wreaths that are laid on Memorial Day and during the Christmas season on veterans’ graves at Lakeview and other cemeteries in New Canaan.
If you know of a veteran interred in New Canaan who has not been remembered and honored with a flag and wreath, please contact Mike McGlinn, Commander VFW Post 653 know at 203 962 1302.

The Glass House

Enjoy a rare opportunity to explore The Glass House and its grounds during the&nbsp;Golden Hour.&nbsp;This special two-hour guided tour offers a&nbsp;golden-hour experience&nbsp;of the site and its many distinct architectural landmarks. In addition, see how the&nbsp;lighting design by Richard Kelly&nbsp;– a pioneer and master of modern architectural lighting and a collaborator with Philip Johnson and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe –&nbsp;transforms the Glass House&nbsp;as the sun sinks in the sky.
This tour runs&nbsp;two hours&nbsp;in duration and is formulated to facilitate&nbsp;photography for personal use.&nbsp;It includes access to the Glass House, Brick House, Painting Gallery, Sculpture Gallery, and Da Monsta, with a&nbsp;three-quarter mile walk over paved, grass, and gravel paths.

This tour runs&nbsp;rain or shine.&nbsp;All&nbsp;ticket sales are final.&nbsp;No refunds will be issued, but tickets may be transferred to another date or program.
