The Wilton boys soccer team enjoyed a breather in its state tournament opener. Things may not be so easy for the Warriors in their next game.
David Brown, Patrick Stephens and Kyle Dedrick each scored two goals Friday as the 16th-seeded Warriors rolled to 7-0 victory over No. 17 in the first round of the Class M tourney.
Brendan Devane had the other goal for the Warriors, who improved to 10-6-2. Wilton scored two goals in the first half before bring it open with five more over the final 40 minutes.

Wilton, which outshot the Whalers 21-5, earned second-round meeting at top seed Wethersfield on Monday (2 p.m.). Wethersfield had a bye in the first round.
