The single most pressing issue facing Wilton, is lack of vision in addressing town needs especially growing the grand list. We need economic development, and multiple types of housing options, while being sensitive to our history and open spaces. Creating a community that is prosperous, that people want to come to live, work and have their businesses.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
We need a clear image and brand for Wilton. Then we need to tell our compelling story. We have done a poor job of promoting Wilton.
We need to increase citizen engagement.
Leveraging public/private partnerships and shared services are opportunities we need to explore.
We need to build on what we have already accomplished on environmental issues and continue to lead.
We must do a better job to promote our arts and cultural community.
Wilton’s infrastructure needs to be addressed.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have served on the Wilton Board of Selectmen under two different First Selectmen. Before moving to Connecticut, I was on the staff of two Mayors of a major city out west. My focus was problem-solving, resolving issues, trouble shooting and enhancing citizen engagement. I have lived in Wilton 22 years and have a deep understanding of Wilton, gained through been volunteering in numerous local organizations to serve our residents. I have managed a business. What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I know that the best ideas and biggest achievements are never done alone. Whatever I have accomplished has come through hard work, shared insight and collaboration. We have an outstanding slate of Democratic candidates with a shared vision and are ready to go to work on day one.
Join me in building an even better Wilton. A lot better.
