Wilton Closes Basketball Courts After Coronavirus Violations
All Town of Wilton basketball courts are closed until further notice following players' failure to wear masks and maintain social distancing
WILTON, CT — All basketball facilities owned and operated by the Town of Wilton have been closed by the Wilton Health Department effective immediately and until further notice, the town announced Wednesday.
The courts are being closed due to failure to follow the rules laid out in the Reopen CT Sector Rules for June 17 reopening, according to a news release from Steve Pierce, the director of Parks and Recreation.
The violations include "exceeding the maximum number of people allowed on basketball courts and little to no social distancing and minimal wearing of masks among players and spectators."
