Wilton Cops Make Big Pot Bust

A Wilton resident on Gaylord Drive is arrested for running a marijuana growing operation.

On August 27, 2010 at approximately 6:00 pm the Wilton Police Department Detective Division, along with members of the Patrol Division and a Westport Police Department K-9 unit, executed a narcotics search warrant at 12 Gaylord Drive South in Wilton at the home of Michael Czegledi.

Detectives had observed several marijuana plants growing in Czegledi's yard.  Based on previous history with Czegledi, Detectives believed there was a marijuana grow operation at Czegledi's house.  A warrant was obtained to search the premises.

In Czegledi's backyard, Detectives seized eleven (11) marijuana plants, each an average of approximately three feet in height.  Detectives also seized literature for growing marijuana, a small quantity of marijuana buds, a digital scale, a water pipe, and a smoke vaporizer.

During the execution of the search warrant Czegledi arrived on scene and was taken into custody.  He was charged with Illegal Manufacture of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He posted a $25,000 bond and released with a court date of 09/07/10 at Norwalk Superior Court.

Also arrested upon arrival to the residence was Laura Carlson, the girlfriend of Czegledi.  She was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for items found inside her vehicle.  She was released on a PTA with a court date of 09/07/10 at Norwalk Superior Court.
