Wilton Coronavirus Update: 11 Deaths, 100 Active Cases

Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Wilton.

WILTON, CT — The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed there are 100 cases of the new coronavirus in the Town as of Thursday, up one from Wednesday.

There have been 11 deaths in town attributed to COVID-19, according to First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice.

The total number of confirmed positive coronavirus cases in Connecticut is now at 15,884, and 971 deaths have been reported, along with 1,929 hospitalizations currently, according to Gov. Ned Lamont on Thursday. Over the past 24 hours 103 new deaths were reported, 1,129 new positive cases and an additional 18 hospitalizations.

Lamont called the death totals "so disheartening."

He said new hospital admissions in Fairfield County is down 10 percent despite a large increase at Bridgeport Hospital. New Haven County has seen a 35 percent decline in new hospital admissions but there is an increase of 30 percent new hospital admissions in Hartford.
