During a lengthy news conference much of the discussion centered on when and how Connecticut may reopen for business. No official dates were released, but Lamont has said Connecticut will remain closed for non-essential businesses and schools until at least May 20.
Before the state can reopen, officials said the state must have enough testing supplies and personal protective equipment. Also any reopening will require continued social-distancing at work as a vaccine is 18 to 24 months away. Officials said they are currently studying safe ways to reopen the state and what that may look like.
