Wilton First Selectman Reportedly Donates Pay Raise
The first-termer did not believe she had been in office long enough to warrant it.

WILTON, CT — First Selectman Lynne Vanderslice is eschewing a 2.5 percent pay increase because she does not believe she has been in office long enough to warrant it, reports The Hour.
Vanderslice has cut checks to Wilton returning the more than $3,000 raise the Board of Selectmen approved for the First Selectman's position, and the money will go back into the town's general fund. The Republican was elected to the position in the fall of 2015.
The annual salary had been $136,108, but was increased to $139,511, according to the publication. The Wilton First Selectman position is more hands-on than those in other nearby communities, which the board believes warranted the increase.
