Wilton Forest Preservation Effort Sets Public Meeting

Wilton residents are invited to a community forum on April 25 at Weston Library.

WILTON, CT -- Aspetuck Land Trust today announced plans for a large-scale forest preservation effort in Wilton and Weston and is inviting the public to learn more and comment at a community forum planned for April 25, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Weston Public Library. An open house will be held from 6:15-7:00 pm with refreshments.

The forest preservation initiative is being led by Aspetuck Land Trust in partnership with Wilton Land Conservation Trust and is part of a larger regional land preservation effort called the Hudson to Housatonic Regional Conservation Partnership which seeks to preserve large tracts of land between the Hudson and Housatonic Rivers in New York and Connecticut.

The land area in Wilton and Weston that the land trusts seek to protect is over 350 acres and is adjacent to over 2,100 acres of already protected land. Aspetuck Land Trust seeks to preserve this habitat by protecting and connecting more land and involving individual landowners in the effort.
