Wilton Girls Ski Team Wins Class S Regular-Season Title

The team finished sixth at states, while the boys' team placed eighth and took second in the regular-season standings.

WILTON, CT – The Wilton High School girls ski team earned the Class S regular-season title after finishing sixth overall at the Connecticut Interscholastic Ski League State Championship at Mount Southington last Thursday.

The boys’ team also competed at states, placing eighth overall and finishing second in the Class S regular-season standings, just behind Weston High School.

Team scoring at the championship meet is based on the combined times of each school's top six racers. The girls' team finished with a score of 318.06, and its top six skiers were Olivia Edwards (51.42), Siena Buchichio (51.63), Lyla Theoharides (52.63), Parker Pettibone (53.30), Magnolia Levy (54.47) and Lila Richardson (54.61).

“We finished in first because of a complete team effort,” Howard said. “From the leadership of our senior captains down to the rookie freshmen who brought race experience and were able to score right from the start, everyone contributed to our winning record.”

The boys' team, under Head Coach Michael Krudwig, placed eighth overall at states with a score of 311.93. Their top six finishers were Cooper Buchichio (46.77), Vincent Kelly (49.96), Ray Slough (52.46), Benjamin Behar (53.11), Theo Satrazemis (54.36) and Sean Raftery (55.27).

Several Wilton athletes also earned CISL All-State honors based on regular-season results.

Cooper Buchichio and Vincent Kelly were named to the Boys All-State Team, and Theo Satrazemis and Ray Slough received Class S honorable mention.

On the girls side, Lyla Theoharides, Olivia Edwards, Siena Buchichio and Parker Pettibone earned Class S honorable mention.
