Wilton High School Track Sets Reopening Date

The Wilton High School track was replaced at a cost of $973,300.

CONNECTICUT — The replacement of the track at Wilton High School Veterans Stadium has been completed and will reopen to the public on Aug. 6.

The track will be open dawn to dusk and be lit until 9 p.m. Mondays through Friday from Thanksgiving through March 1st, weather permitting.

As before, the new track is available exclusively for running and walking only. Skating, rollerblading, skateboards, scooters, bicycles, strollers, and any other wheeled objects are prohibited, as they may damage the surface.

The track was replaced at a cost of $973,300 which is $276,700 or 22 percent less than the original estimate. The replacement was funded with monies from the town’s February 10-year bond sale which achieved a 0.83 percent interest rate and a gift of $80,500 from the non-profit initiative Back the Track.
