Wilton Offers Residents New Property Alert System To Thwart Scammers
Wilton has enabled a service which allows residents to receive notifications when official documents are recorded on their property.
WILTON, CT — The Town Clerk's Office is now offering residents a property alert notification system through the Wilton's land records vendor.
Last month, a Newtown homeowner found that his residence had been sold, and paperwork for the sale had been filed with the town, without his knowledge or authorization.
To prevent this and similar scams from happening in Wilton, the Town Clerk’s Office has enabled a service, called PropertyCheck, which allows residents to receive notifications when official documents are recorded on their property. There is no cost to participate.
