Wilton Officials Applaud $983K Grant For Emergency Comms System

The new system will allow for improved communication within and between the various town departments.

WILTON, CT — The Town of Wilton has received a $983,000 grant for a town wide emergency public safety communications system.

The new system will allow for improved communication within and between the various town departments. It will also improve emergency communication between Wilton and neighboring towns.

Speaking during a news conference Wednesday, Wilton Police Captain Thomas Conlan thanked 143rd District Representative Stephanie Thomas for making town officials aware of this funding opportunity.

"The funds the Town of Wilton will be receiving from this grant will not only enhance our ability to communicate within the Town of Wilton, but also with our regional partners," Conlan said.

First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice called the experience "an excellent example of how local, state and federal officials can collaborate to produce a great outcome for a community such as Wilton."
