Wilton Police Chief Announces Retirement

Robert Crosby has served in the Wilton department for more than 30 years.

WILTON, CT — Robert Crosby, Wilton's police chief since September 2015, has announced he plans to retire next year.

His last day will be April 3. He took over for former chief Michael Lombardo, who left to become the chief of his hometown Trumbull department.

Crosby has been a member of the Wilton force for 33 years, and he thanked the town, the department and the Police Commission for the opportunity of serving as chief.

"It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the Town of Wilton and its Police Department for over 33 years," he said in a statement, adding that the department is exemplary and the experience has been unforgettable.

No word from town officials on any possible replacements for Crosby.
