Wilton Police Report DUI, Speeding And Court-Related Cases Over Several Days
Wilton police report DUI, speeding and failure-to-appear cases tied to traffic stops and court warrants.
WILTON, CT — Wilton police reported multiple incidents over several days involving impaired driving, speeding and outstanding court matters.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m. Jan. 30, police stopped a 2024 Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Danbury Road near Blue Ridge Road. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Sagar Eligar of Norwalk, showed signs of impairment and told officers he had consumed alcohol before driving. Police said he was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests to standard and declined chemical testing. He was charged with driving under the influence and speeding. In Connecticut, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08 percent for those 21 and older. Eligar posted a $300 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 11.
On the evening of Jan. 31, officers observed an open gate at a construction site on Danbury Road and found a black Ford Explorer parked nearby. Police said the operator, 36-year-old Josue Borges-Faustino of Riverside, NJ, showed signs of impairment and was unable to complete standardized field sobriety tests to standard. He declined chemical testing and was charged with driving under the influence and operating a motor vehicle without a license. Borges-Faustino posted a $300 bond and is due in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 13.

Early Feb. 1, police stopped a 2026 BMW X5 traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Danbury Road near Seeley Road. The operator, identified as 61-year-old Anthony Prisco of Stamford, admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving, police said. Officers reported he was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests to standard and declined chemical testing. Prisco was charged with driving under the influence and speeding. He posted a $300 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 13.
Later that afternoon, officers responding to a license plate reader alert contacted a Wilton woman outside her residence. Police identified the person as Maria Arbizu-Lita, 55, who was the subject of multiple active court warrants originating in Wilton and Norwalk. She was charged with three counts of failure to appear in the second degree. Court-set bonds totaling $60,000 were imposed. Arbizu-Lita later posted 7 percent of each bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 11.
