Wilton PD Reports Court Cases Tied To Traffic Stop And Theft Investigations

Wilton police detail recent court cases involving a traffic stop, theft investigations and outstanding warrants.

WILTON, CT — Wilton police reported several recent cases involving outstanding warrants and theft investigations, according to criminal information summaries released by the department.

On Feb. 5, officers stopped a blue Honda SUV on Danbury Road after observing it straddling the dotted line separating two southbound lanes. Police identified the driver as Joyce Abbi Murphy, 65, of Newtown, who was found to be the subject of an active court-issued warrant for first-degree failure to appear. The warrant stemmed from Murphy’s failure to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Jan. 28 in connection with an earlier incident in Brookfield. Murphy posted 7 percent of a court-set $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Feb. 17.

In a separate matter, police said Dashuri Cera, 48, of Brookfield, arrived at Wilton Police Department headquarters on Feb. 3 and turned himself in on an active court-issued warrant. The case dates back to Dec. 18, 2025, and includes charges of fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny. Cera posted a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 17.
