WILTON, CT — A local Catholic school has set June 25 as the deadline to raise $140,000.
Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Academy was "hit hard by the pandemic," according to the online fundraising campaign page, and now needs to raise that amount to "ensure the Academy's financial stability and guarantee that our doors remain open to welcome students in the upcoming school year."
Fatima opened its doors in 1962, serving grades 1-4, according to the school website, adding a grade per year and graduating its first class in 1966. It's recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, and is accredited through the New England Association of Schools & Colleges. The school switched over to the academy model last year.
