Riding a two-game losing streak, the Wilton boys lacrosse team (2-2) dropped three spots to No. 5 in this week's New Haven Register's top-10 state poll.
The Warriors, who have lost to top-ranked Darien and Pennsylvania power La Salle College High in their last two outings, host No. 5 Greenwich (2-2) on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Darien held on to the top spot despite an 11-5 loss at Haverford (PA) in the "Checking For Cancer" Invitational. Fairfield Prep and Ridgefield moved up one spot to second and third, respectively.
All top 10 teams in the poll are from Fairfield County. New Canaan (1-2) is sixth, followed by McMahon (4-1), New Fairfield (5-0), Weston (4-0) and Staples (4-1). New Fairfield is the only newcomer in this week's poll.

Wilton 8, New Canaan 2 -- Paul Merolla tossed a complete-game seven-hitter for the Warriors, who put away the game early by scoring seven runs in the second inning.
