The Wilton girls basketball team overcame a spectacular 32-point performance by Westhill's Megan D'Allesandro to defeat the Vikings 59-49 on Wednesday in their season opener at the Zeoli Field House.
The Warriors won with balanced scoring as Kelly Brosko scored 14 points, Maddy Fullton chipped in with 13 and Casey Pearsall added 11.

Wilton was in control for most of the night, holding Westhill under 20 points in the first half while building a 29-17 lead at the intermission.
The Warriors are looking to build on last year's strong finish that allowed them to post a 12-10 record, their best mark in eight years.

Wilton just missed qualifying for the FCIAC playoffs, but defeated Darien -- the team that edged out the Warriors for the league's final postseason berth - in the first round of the Class L state tournament.
