The boys hockey team enjoyed a rare laugher Wednesday, routing Norwalk-McMahon 8-0 at the Winter Garden Arena.
Matt Kobyra had two goals and an assist to lead the Warriors, who improved to 4-8. Wilton must do no worse than split to final eight games to make the state tournament.

Alex Pagliaro recorded three assists for the Warriors and Dan Miller contributed a goal and two assists. assisted on three tallies.
Nick Wells and Derek Prario combined on the shutout for Wilton.
It could have been even worse as Norwalk-McMahon goalkeeper Richie Henderson made 44 saves while facing 52 shots.

The Wilton girls basketball team had its five-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday with a 53-48 setback to Staples.
However, the Warriors figure to be facing the right opponent to get back on the winning track as they host winless Bassick on Thursday (5:30 p.m.).
The Lions (0-15) are coming off an embarrassing 71-11 loss to Trumbull, a game in which they were outscored 32-0 in the second half.
Tuesday's defeat dropped Wilton (10-4, 10-3) into a tie for third in the FCIAC with St. Joseph, which was upset by Norwalk, one game behind Trumbull.

A number of athletes from Wilton will be participating in the FCIAC indoor track championship on Thursday in New Haven.
Leading the Warriors' contigent will be Rebecca Craig, who is the No. 1 seed in the girls 3,200 meters, and Alex Ward, who is the top seed in the boys long jump.
