Historically, Harding's Miska Gym never has been kind to opponents, but this might be the perfect time for the boys basketball team to pay a visit to Bridgeport's East Side.

On Thursday, Wilton plays at Harding, which has gotten off to an 0-7 start under first-year coach Charles Clemons, who took over for the legendary Charles Bentley.

It is a shocking turn of events for one of the state's most stories programs. Under Bentley, who retired at the end of last season, the Presidents won nine state championships and more than 600 games in 34 years.

But Clemons, a former star at St. Joseph, is still looking for his first win. Harding is coming off Tuesday's 60-52 defeat to unbeaten Danbury.

Wilton (3-4) has a chance to reach .500 after defeating Fairfield Warde 63-61 in overtime on Tuesday. The victory enabled the Warriors to surpass last season's victory total (2-18).

Ian Ross scored a season-high 21 points for Wilton on Tuesday and Chris Nugent registered seven of his nine points in overtime.

The Wilton girls basketball team, which is rebound from Tuesday's 48-42 loss at Warde, hosts Harding at 5:45 p.m.

Tuesday's loss dropped to Wilton to 5-3 while Harding is 2-7.

Hutchings goal earlier in the period had given Ridgefield a 4-0 lead.

Wilton netminder Vanessa Pagano made 23 saves to keep the Warriors in the game.
