The girls basketball team rebounded from a loss to Fairfield Warde to rout Harding 72-36 on Thursday at Zeoli Fieldhouse.

Coming off a 48-42 defeat to the Mustangs, the Warriors got off to a bit of a slow start Thursday, only leading 16-13 after the first quarter and 28-17 at the half.

But Wilton pulled away in the second half, outscoring Harding 44-19 to improve to 6-3.

Maddy Fulton paced the Warriors with 22 points and 11 rebounds while Cori Cannavino added 12 points and Casey Pearsall chipped in with nine.

Harding dropped to 2-8, including 0-8 in FCIAC play.

The Harding boys basketball team earned its first win of the season Thursday with a 67-52 victory over Wilton.

The Presidents improved to 1-7 while the Warriors dropped to 3-5.

It also was the first win for new Harding coach Charles Clemons. He took over for the legendary Charlie Bentley, who retired after leading the Presidents to nine state championships in his 34 seasons.
