After a bad loss to Darien/New Canaan on Monday, the Wilton senior American Legion team appears to have little chance to make the state tourmament.
The 18-2 defeat left Wilton with an 11-13 record, meaning it must win its final three games to garner a postseason berth.

Fourteen wins -one game over .500 - is the magic number in zone four. And Wilton has a difficult closing schedule with games regaining against first place Greenwich and second place Norwalk. The other remaining game is against Fairfield.
Norwalk finishes with Norwalk on Wednesday (5:45 p.m. at Wilton High School), Saturday against Fairfield (Notre Dame of Fairfield High School, 3 p.m.) and Sunday against Greenwich (Greenwich High School, 10 a.m.)

The Wilton junior team (9-11) also is a long shot at best, needing to win six of its final seven games to make the state tournament. In the junior ranks, 15 wins are required.
-- Wilton, the runner-up in pool B, will face National Lione, the top seed in pool A in the crossover playoffs on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Stamford Springdale in the 12-year-old District One Little League tournament.
Darien American, the top seed in pool B, takes on pool A runner-up North Stamford at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Stamford Springdale.
The finals are set for Sunday at Stamford's Scalzi Park at 4 p.m. with the winner advancing to the section one tournament, which is being hosted by Orange.
The semifinals also are set in the 11-year-old baseball tournament. On Thursday, Darien National takes on Ridgefield (5:30 p.m.) and Wilton faces North Stamford (7:30 p.m.) at Springdale.
