Four members of Wilton's boys lacrosse team, which defeated New Canaan 12-2 in the CIAC Class M title game on Saturday, have earned first-team all-state status. Those honored are:
Mike Francia, attack; Mike Serpa, midfield; Pat Holland, defense; and Sam Somers, goalie. Oddly, the Warriors had no second-team picks.

Serpa, Holland, Christopher Nugent, Francia, Connor Melillo, Matthew Kobyra and Matthew Reyes-Guerra-Dunn scored on Saturday for Wilton (15-15) , which was coming of an 11-3 semifinal win over Darien.
New Canaan’s Mike Bossidy scored in the first five minutes and the Rams (13-7) did not scored again until Peter Rice tallied in the final five minutes.

Bossidy's goal pulled New Canaan, the No. 7 seed within 2-1, but the Warriors reeleed off 10 straight goals.
Serpa led the way for Wilton with four goals while Melillo and Nugent each had two. Francia chipped in with a goal and three assists.
Wilton won its fifth state championship under the current format and first since 2004. Four of those titles have come against New Canaan.
Wilton's Ryan Phillips has been named to the Fairfield County All-Star team that will face the New Haven County All-Stars in the annual football Hall of Fame Classic.
The game is set for July 8 at West Haven's Ken Strong Stadium. Tickets cost $7 each and are available at the gate.

-- The Wilton white fourth grade boys lacrosse team narrowly missed a three-game sweep of Ridgefield Orange with a 4-3 loss on Saturday morning.
Wilton goalies Conrad Emerson, Thomas Costello, and Ethan Grandolfo - along with the defensive unit of Evan Harley, Max Colburn, Dean DiNanno, Jack Caty, and Billy Ronk - helped shut down the Tigers in the second half. But it was not enough to overcome a two-goal deficit at halftime.
Cole Barnes won three of his four faceoffs and Andrew Calabrese, Thomas Costello, and Max Colburn scored the Warriors' goals with backing by Ryan Schriber, Malcolm MacGregor, Jack Ferguson, Tyler Zengo, Tyler Previte, Jake Stein and Zach Rossi.
