After the opener against Bridgeport Central was postponed due to the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, the Warriors jumped out of the gate with three wins.

Then, they endured a four-game losing streak, which included an overtine defeat to Darien, before winning their last two.

Now, the Warriors are looking to close of the year on a high note when they visit Trinity Catholic on Thursday (10 a.m.).

A victory will give Wilton its second three-game winning streak of the year. More importantly, it also would secure a winning season for the Warriors (5-4), who were 4-6 last year.

Wilton put itself in position to finish 6-4 by rallying for a wild 35-28 victory over Fairfield Warde on Nov. 11.

The Warriors rallied from a 28-21 deficit in the final five minutes as Travis Stella scored on a 2-yard TD run with 28 seconds remaining.

Senior quarterback Sean Carroll had a spectacular game for Wilton, rushing for 209 yards and three touchdowns, including an 80-yard burst up the middle the tied the contest at 28-28.

Stella is the Warriors' top rushing threat, having run for 724 yards, while Alex Ward is Carroll's leading target with a team-high 524 yards.

Trinity Catholic enters the contest with a 3-6 record, having lost its last two games, including a 29-14 defeat to St. Joseph in its most recent outing.

Last season, Wilton defeated Trinity Catholic 38-20 at Fujitani Field.

This is the FCIAC's youngest rivalry with the teams splitting the previous six meetings.
