Wilton Scores and Standings, Nov. 25

A roller coaster season ended on a high note for the Wilton football team.

The Warriors jumped out to a 28-point Thursday morning and coasted to a 49-14 victory over Trinity Catholic to clinch a winning season at 6-4.

Quarterback Sean Carroll rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another score for Wilton, which started and ended the season with three-game winning streaks. In between, however, the Warriors dropped four in a row.

Wilton put away Thursday's contest early, jumping to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter.

Connor Devane and quarterback Sean Carroll scored on TD runs of 22 yards, sandwiched around a touchdown by Alex Ward, who returned a blocked punt 5 yards for a score.

Wilton made it 28-0 on Carroll's 45-yard TD pass to Ward. After Catholic (3-7) got on the board on Danny O'Leary's 35-yard TD strike to Kevin Epp, the Warriors took a 35-7 halftime lead on Devane's 2-yard TD run.

Carroll's 2-yard keeper pushed the lead to 42-7. After a 2-yard TD run by the Crusaders' Michael Davis, Wilton capped the scoring on Charles Wong's 2-yard plunge.
