Here is the revised schedule for the FCIAC girls soccer playoffs:
SATURDAY
No. 5 Darien (9-4-3) at No. 4 Greenwich (10-2-4), 10:30 a.m.
SUNDAY
No. 8 Trumbull (7-3-6) at No. 1 St. Joseph (14-1-1), 2 p.m.
No. 6 Wilton (8-3-5) at No. 3 Westhill (11-1-4), 3 p.m.
No. 7 Fairfield Warde (9-5-2) at No. 2 New Canaan (12-2-2), 3 p.m.
Semifinals are Tuesday at Wilton at 5 and 7 (higher seed in late game) and the final is Thursday at 5 p.m. at Norwalk.
The Wilton girls soccer team, which had already clinched a spot in the FCIAC playoffs, concluded its regular season Thursday with a 2-0 loss at Darien.
The Warriors (8-3-5) are the No. 6 seed and will visit No. 3 seed Westhill (11-1-4) in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
Trumbull tied Westhill 1-1 and Fairfield Warde defeated Trinity Catholic 3-0 to secure the other remaining spots still up for grabs.
The Eagles (7-3-6) snared the No. 8 seed and will play at top seed St. Joseph (14-1-1) in an all-Trumbull quarterfinal.
Staples stayed alive with a 4-0 win over Stamford earlier Thursdy, forcing Trumbull to get at least one point against Westhill and the Eagles accomplished the feat by rallying from a 1-0 deficit at halftime.
In the other quarterfinal games Saturday, No 2 seed New Canaan (12-2-2) hosts No. 7 Fairfield Warde (9-5-2) and No. 4 Greenwich (10-2-4) is at home for No. 5 Darien (9-4-3).
Wilton and Fairfield Warde tied for sixth, but the Warriors earned the higher seed based on their regular-season win over the Mustangs.
Things just don't get any easier for the Wilton football team.
One week after suffering a heartbreaking 35-34 double overtime loss to Darien, the Warriors face one of the state's most potent offenses.
Wilton (3-3) has the unenviable task of trying to slow down Matt Milano and company when it hosts New Canaan (6-0) on Friday at Fujitani Field (7 p.m.) .
Last week's New Canaan's offense was unstoppable as Milano threw six touchdown passes in the Rams' 43-14 victory over St. Joseph. Milano become the school's all-time leader in career TDs in last than two years a starter.
He completed 21-of-25 for 340 yards, throwing his first five TDs to Patrick Newtown, who had eight receptions for 196 yards.
Lou Marinelli won his 250th career game as New Canaan coach, a position he has held since 1982.
Wilton has dropped three in a row to fall back into the pack in the FCIAC after a 3-0 start.
Backup quarterback Brett Phillips played admirably for the Warriors last week, filling in for starter Sean Carroll, who was sidelined with a concussion. Phillips threw three TD passes to Rob Keers, including a late score that forced the overtime.
