Wilton Scores and Standings, Oct. 31

Wilton's Alosha Southern finished second, helping the Warriors win the CIAC Class L girls cross country title Saturday at Manchester's Wickham Park.

Southern posted a time of 19:38, just four seconds behind winner Brittany Mendelson of Pomperaug.

The Warriors, who were third in the FCIAC championship, posted a team score of 69, more than 60 points lower than second-place Pomperaug's total of 132.

Completing the top 10 were: E.O. Smith (137), Darien (138), Fairfield Warde (154), Mercy (155), Hand (210), East Lyme (223), Farmington (263) and , Bristol Eastern (286)

Other top finishers for Wilton included: No. 7 Alexandra Fiesel (20:08), No. 17 Kelly Gaston (20:40), No. 20 Paige Lyons (20:48) and No. 23 Rebecca Craig (20:58).

The FCIAC girls soccer playoffs are scheduled to resume with two quarterfinals on Tuesday with the higher seeds hosting the games. (One contest was played on Saturday as No. 5 seed Greenwich defeated No. 4 Darien, 1-0). The Wilton at Westhill contest has been pushed back again until Wednesday.

Here is the updated schedule (a time still hasn't been determined for the Trumbull-St. Joseph game).

TUESDAY

No. 8 Trumbull at No. 1 St. Joseph, TBA

No. 7 Warde at No. 2 New Canaan, 6 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

No. 6 Wilton at No. 3 Westhill, 3 p.m.

The semifinals have been moved to Thursday (5 and 7 p.m.) at Norwalk with the final now set for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Fairfield Ludlowe.

The FCIAC has announced that the field hockey quarterfinals will be played on Wednesday at two sites: McMahon and Fairfield-Ludlowe.

McMahon, Stamford vs. Staples, 5 p.m., Westhill-Darien, 7 p.m.

At Ludlowe: Norwalk-New Canaan, 5 p.m., Ludlowe-Wilton, 7 p.m.

The semifinals at set for New Canaan on Thursday (5 and 7 p.m.) with the finals pushed back until Saturday at 10 a.m. at McMahon.
