The Wilton Girls U-11 Blue girls soccer team opened its fall season with a 1-1 tie at New Canaan.

In the first half, Wilton had Delia Freliech, Ally Dejana and Kaitlin Reif  playing offense while Isabella King and Shannon Keefe were at midfield.  Bridgette Wall and Alex Brichkowski were on defense with Paige Keating in the net. 

The first half was a stalemate with neither team able to get quality shots on goal.

In the second half, the teams seemed to play more aggressively, leading to an early New Canaan goal. 

Shortly thereafter, however, Wilton's Ally Dejana took a ball in the right corner and crossed it in front to Kaitlin Reif, who one-timed the pass into the left-corner of the net.

The action continued in front of the New Canaan net with Mackenzie McCormick, Katie Pruden and Paige Keating all contributing to multiple shot attempts.

Carly Sullivan and Wall were able to keep the pressure on by continually lobbing the ball into the offensive zone from the defensive position.

New Canaan had a late chance, but Phoebe Beshlian made a save on point blank shot, managed to get both hands on the ball and pushing it over the cross bar to preserve the tie.
