Wilton Selectmen Propose Budget With 3.2 Percent Increase: Report

In the face of significant funding cuts from the state, the Wilton Board of Selectmen has made a budget proposal.

WILTON, CT — In the face of an uncertain fiscal future for the state, the Wilton Board of Selectmen has proposed a budget with an increase of 3.2 percent from the previous year, according to the Hour.

First Selectman Lynne Vanderslice attributed last year's savings to job vacancies that the town held off on filing. However, the proposal's potential varies significantly from the Board of Finance's guidance measures, which call for a 1.25 percent reduction to the budget.

Vanderslice added that the town hall campus was in desperate need of renovations, and a portion of the proposed spending increase would go towards improving it.
