Wilton Settles Complaint Filed By Detective

The town settled a complaint made by the department's only female detective.

WILTON, CT — The Town of Wilton settled a complaint for more than $17,500 after the Wilton Police Department's lone female detective alleged a hostile working environment that stemmed from dress code.

Detective Eva Zimnoch alleged that she was subject to harassment and unequal treatment after she began dressing in V-neck T-shirts and capris, according to the Connecticut Post.

The department had no codified dress code at the time, but Chief Robert Crosby codified it later. Zimnoch alleged that male detectives were allowed to wear sneakers in violation of the dress code with no repercussions.
