Wilton Softball Eliminated From FCIAC Playoff Race

Wilton's hopes of making the FCIAC softball tournament ended Thursday night, when the Lady Warriors were beaten by St. Joseph, 7-1, in their regular season finale.

Wilton (11-9, 9-9) had an outside chance of grabbing the FCIAC's eighth and final playoff spot, as the Lady Warriors entered the last game tied with three other teams.

But they mananged only four hits off St. Joseph's Micki Keltos, and now have a week off before the state tournament begins.

Steph Boyles plated Wilton's only run with an RBI single in the first inning.
