Three-time FCIAC champion gymnast Chelsea LeVander of Wilton joins Norwalk wrestler Brandon Riggins as the winners of this week's MSG Varsity’s FCIAC Players of the Week awards.
Levander, a senior, captured her third consecutive FCIAC all-around gymnastics championship by scoring 37.75 points in the conference finals last Saturday. She also swept all four events and was the only gymnast to score a 9 or higher in any event.

Riggins, also senior, was the No. 1 seed at 195 pounds in the FCIAC championships and and won his weight class by going 3-0 with three pins. None of his matches went more than two periods, as his pins were in 0:23, 3:14 and 3:10.
Recipients of the FCIAC Player of the Week Award are chosen by a committee consisting of four FCIAC athletic directors, along with area sports writers.

The Wilton High School girls basketball team defeated Bridgeport Central 70-33 on Wednesday to secure the No. 4 seed for the FCIAC playoffs.
Erica Meyer scored 16 points off the bench for the Warriors, who finished the regular season at 14-5 overall and 13-5 in the FCIAC.
Wilton, making its first playoff appearance since 2003, will host Norwalk in the quarterfinals on Saturday, TBA. The Warriors defeated the Bears 48-40 on Jan. 19.
Maddie Fulton scored 14 points and Alyssa Malvarosa added 13 for Wilton, which opened leads of 18-7 after the first quarter and 31-12 at halftime.
The Warriors then outscored the Hilltoppers 21-4 in the third quarter to build a 52-16 cushion ending the final period.
Central scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, one more than its 16 points through three periods.
In other playoff matchups this weekend, No. 1 Danbury hosts No. 8 Darien, TBA, and No. 2 St. Joseph welcomes No. 7 Stamford, 5 p.m.
No. 3 Trumbull also earned a home game, but will play No. 6 at Fairfield Ludlowe (2 p.m.) because Trumbull is hosting the Class LL wrestling state championship this weekend.

The Wilton boys basketbll team isn't satisfied just making the state tournament. Now the Warriors are gunning for a winning season.
Chris Nugent scored 24 points Wednesday as the Warriors posted a solid 59-53 vicory over FCIAC playoff contender Bridgeport Central at the Zeoli Field House.
Olandi LeGrand scored 10 points and Max Maudsley added nine for the Warriors, who improved to 9-9 overall and 7-9 in the FCIAC.
Wilton trailed 28-26 at halftime before forging a 39-39 tie after three quarters. The Warriors then pulled out the win by outscoring the Hilltoppers 20-14 in the fourth quarter.
Tyler Ancrum scored 17 points for Central, which suffered a damaging loss in its FCIAC playoff hopes to drop to 10-7 and 9-7.
Wilton concludes the regular season next week on the road against Westhill and New Canaan.
