After a dramatic turnaround, the boys basketball team is seeded No. 23 in the Class L state tournament and will play at No. 10 University (15-5) in the first round on Monday.
The Warriors, who finished just 2-18 last year, will be making their first state tournament berth since 2000 after completing a 10-10 regular season that included wins over FCIAC playoff teams Danbury and Bridgeport Central.
The Warriors won five of their final eight games to reach .500, closing the regular season with a 65-51 victory at New Canaan.
Should Wilton pull off the upset, it would take on either No. 6 Trinity Catholic or No. 26 Fairfield Ludlowe in the second round on Wednesday.

Despite a .500 record, the Wilton High School boys hockey team (10-10) has earned a No. 4 in the Division II state tournament and will host No. 13 New Milford (10-9-1) in the first round on Tuesday at the Winter Garden Arena.
The Warriors, who started the season 0-7, earned the high seed because they play a number of Division I opponents in the semifinals.
If Wilton advances, it would take on either No. 5 seed Trumbull (11-9) or No. 12 Watertown-Pomperaug (10-10) in the quarterfinals on Friday. Watertown-Pomperaug moved up after defeating Staples in the Division III state finals last year.
Guilford (11-7-1) is the top seed and earned a bye in the first round. The Indians could see Wilton in the semifinals.
Hand (12-6-2) is the No. 2 seed and also has a bye into the second round while North Branford (11-8-1) is seeded third.
Last year, Wilton lost to Cheshire 2-1 in overtime in the Division II semifinals.
