Wilton Wahoos Post Two Firsts At YMCA Swim Championships
K.C. Moss and Christian Higgins win their events as Wilton is third in the overall standings.
Swimmers from the Wilton Wahoos had a strong day Thursday at the YMCA Short Course National Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with two first-place finishes and one second-place effort.
K.C. Moss won the women's 200-yard breast stroke with a time of 2:12.78 and Christian Higgins took first in the men's 200-yard breast stroke (1:58.22).
In the women's 200-yard freestyle, Wilton's Shelby Fortin posted a time of 1:47.75 for a second-place finish. Teammate Katie Luchansky was 19th in the event (1:51.77).

After the second day of competition, Wilton was third in the overall standings behind Middle Tyger YMCA and the Sarasota, Florida YMCA.
Shannon Ahearn (2:19.22) and Megan Lattimer (2:21.32) placed 10th and 13th, respectively, in the women's 200-yard breast stroke.

Robbie Harder was seventh in the men's 1,000-yard freestyle (9:24.38) and Spencer Scarth 28th in the same competition (9:43.93).
Other top finishes for Wilton included Adam Lebovitz (14th in the 200-yard men's freestyle) and Sophie Horby (31st in the women's 1000-yard freestyle)
Also, Wilton took home a fifth-place finish in the women's 400-yard freestyle relay.
The competition continues through Saturday.
