Wilton's Financial Outlook is Stronger Than Expected
Revenue is up, spending is down.

WILTON, CT -- The town's finances are in order, forecast to be $1.6 million higher than expected in the Board of Selectmen’s budget, The Wilton Bulletin has reported.
In a report delivered to the Board of Finance on June 19, a state education cost sharing grant ($530,363), another state grant for town road aid ($158,000), interest income ($290,000) and the payment of back taxes and an increase in motor vehicle supplemental tax ($240,000) all contributed significantly to the predicted surplus.
Lower than budgeted spending, due to unfilled positions in the police department, assessor’s office, and public works department also contributed to the rosier outlook.
