Clover Street School K-Kids Collect Supplies for Troops
Students Collect Eight Large Boxes For "Send Hometown Windsor to the Troops"

During the month of March, the K-Kids from Clover Street School held a collection to help fill the shelves at WIN-TV, where supplies are stored for “Send Hometown Windsor to the Troops.” Eight large boxes of items were collected from families and the staff, including baby wipes, toilet paper, chap sticks, granola bars, individual soups, macaroni and cheese and nuts.
Clover Street students have been writing to several troop members during their monthly K-Kids meetings and Fun Fridays throughout the year. Their “adopted” soldier, Sergeant Jeff Hammersmith has been exchanging emails from his deployment in Kuwait and Bahrain with Terri Faucher, the K-Kids advisor, who then shares them with the students at their monthly meetings.
Pictured is a small group of the K-Kids along with Ann Walsh (volunteer-mentor) and Terri Faucher (K-Kids advisor), proudly showing off their collection boxes and the parent flyer that went home to Clover Street families.
