Housing Help Available In Windsor As Homelessness In Region Increases

The town is working with United Way to connect eligible residents with short-term assistance.

WINDSOR, CT — In response to a rise in homelessness across central and northeastern Connecticut, the Town of Windsor is partnering with United Way to connect residents with short-term housing assistance through United Way’s Rapid Response Fund, town officials said.

The initiative is aimed at helping individuals and families remain housed or stabilize their current living situation after a reported 10 percent increase in homelessness in the region, according to the town.

To qualify, applicants must demonstrate a financial need that would help stabilize or secure housing, live within the program’s service area, have household income at or below the ALICE threshold, and be referred by an agency that has a valid memorandum of understanding with the program.
