Man Robs Windsor Bank

Police are searching for a black man who reportedly was seen leaving the scene on a bicycle. BREAKING

WINDSOR, CT — Police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed a bank on Route 159 in Windsor Tuesday morning.

Around 9:05 a.m. Windsor police responded to a robbery at the Santander Bank in the Windsor Shopping Center at 578 Windsor Avenue in the Wilson section of town, Capt. Thomas LePore said.

A black male reportedly entered the bank, implied he was armed and demanded money. He left the bank on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, LePore said.

The suspect is described as a black male, clean shaven, in his mid-50s to mid-60s, between 5-feet-8 and 6-feet tall, weighting around 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a tan polo-style shirt with a white T-shirt beneath, a blue ball cap with no logo, dark jeans and dark sneakers with white soles. He also wore a bluish-green towel around his neck, LePore said.

A person with this description was seen moments after the robbery riding a small BMX-style bicycle north on Windsor Avenue from the Windsor Shopping Center, LePore said.
