• Hazardous Chemical Discovery Forces Windsor School Evacuation (patch.com) — Parents and residents in Windsor can breathe easier after a crystallized bottle of nitric acid discovered at CREC's Academy of Aerospace and Engineering prompted a full evacuation and hazmat response, with no injuries reported. Firefighters, police, and state environmental officials safely removed the chemical and confirmed there is no ongoing danger or disruption to regular classes at the Kennedy Road school.

• Driver Charged With OUI After I-91 Motorcycle Crash In Windsor (patch.com) — Drivers using I-91 through Windsor may want to note a recent late-night crash in the northbound lanes near Exit 36, where police say an East Windsor man rear-ended a motorcycle and was charged with operating under the influence. The Bloomfield motorcyclist suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital, while troopers continue to monitor the case for further developments.

• Windsor Approves Plans For 258 Apartments (patch.com) — Windsor officials have cleared the way for two major housing projects that would add 258 apartments, including 201 units at Targeting Centre and 57 units at 7 Waterside Crossing. The approvals accelerate a broader shift from offices to housing in the Day Hill Road corridor, where multiple Waterside Crossing buildings are slated for conversion, while new restaurants like Starbucks and Chipotle are also planned.
